Team#11 is directed by Dr. Anselmo Moriscot at the University of Sao Paulo. The University of Sao Paulo (USP) is the largest Brazilian research and teacing instituion: USP has approximately 5000 staff members, comprising about 1000 Full Professors, 1500 Associate Professors and 2500 Assistant professors. The University receives about 50.000 under-graduate students per year, and about one third of those are related to the biological area. About 20% of those students spend their first two years in the participating Institute (ICB: Institute of Biomedical Sciences) where they accomplish Anatomy, Histology/Cell Biology, Physiology, Parasitology, Immunology, Microbiology and Pharmacology. Thereby, the participation of team#11 allows SarcoSi to attract young researchers to our research, and to strengthen EU-Latin America cooperativity in our research field.
